Alice Neel:Painter of Modern Life opened at Ateneum Helsinki where it was on view from 10 June to 2 October 2016. It then travelled to Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (5 November 2016 - 12 February 2017), and goes on to Fondation Vincent Van Gogh Arles (4 March - 17 September 2017) and Deichtorhallen Hamburg (13 October 2017 - 14 January 2018). The exhibition includes portraits, cityscapes and still life paintings and is accomapnied by a major catalogue, edited by Lewison, and with two articles by him as well as essays by Petra Gördüren, Laura Stamps, Bice Curiger and Annamari Vänskä,. The catalogue is published in separate language editions. The English edition is distributed by Yale University Press on behalf of Mercatorfonds.
